Basketball 2009-10 Practice for grades 5-12 begin mid November after rosters are posted. Games begin early December. K-2nd Grade basketball program begins in early January. 	St. Bernadette CYO Mission The primary purpose of the CYO at St. Bernadette’s Parish shall be to conduct the parish based youth programs at St. Bernadette that will foster personal and spiritual growth and commitment to the youth of the Parish. The Organization develops and provides the resources for the programs of its memberships and addresses the needs of the youth involved in the program.

	CYO Community Mass and Reception Sunday, February 14th the CYO asks all basketball players to attend the 9:00am Mass in uniform with their teams and all parishioners are welcome to attend a reception in the MSR following the Mass.
	BASEBALL/SOFTBALL/T-BALL
	Registration for St. Bernadette Softball, Baseball and T-Ball will open tomorrow, January 29th. Get the form here. Deadline is February 28th, 2010. Please – if your 1st – 12th grade participant in ANY CYO sport has not been registered yet this school year at the www.washcyo.com site – please do so now to update the grade and spectator behavior agreement.; This is a must for all families to be in compliance with the Archdiocese.; Let us know if you have difficulties with this site. Our parish CYO program fields teams for TYKE/K-8th grade students in the school and parish. K-2nd – Intramurals - Kindergarten and 1st is co-ed, 2nd is gender specific 3rd -4th – Rookies 5th –6th – J.V. 7th – 8th – Varsity Any position requiring interaction with children will require a VIRTUS class and fingerprinting/background check with the Archdiocese. K-2nd Grade – Intramurals K – coed – T-Ball 1st - girls – coach pitch cushioned softball 1st – boys – coach pitch cushioned baseball 2nd - girls - coach pitch cushioned softball 2nd – boys – coach pitch cushioned baseball 1 practice per week and games Friday nights 3rd & 4th – Rookies – baseball/softball 1 practice per week and one game per weekend Evals to balance skill across teams 5th & 6th – J.V. – baseball/softball 1-2 practices per week and games on weekends Evals tentatively set for the first week of March Evals to determine A & B team placement Must be present for evals for A team placement 7th & 8th – Varsity – baseball/softball 1-2 practices per week and games on weekends Evals tentatively set for the first week of March Evals to determine A & B team placement Must be present for evals for A team placement
	VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES Those interested in the following volunteer positions – please contact the CYO at stbernadettecyo@gmail.com. Head or Assistant Coaches at all levels The CYO is actively looking for a K-2nd Grade Commissioner for the Spring to handle roster creation, distribution and management of equipment, and communication with coaches.; Credit offered for school families at a Tier 3, but position is open to non-school individuals as well. Board Member position for 2-3 year term Must be voted upon by CYO members
